Nicholas Calderone

"I’ve always been aware of the connection between science and art.

When I smell a fragrance I rarely concentrate on the individual notes, instead searching for the structure, base, and foundation that inform its character.

For me, being an American perfumer means respecting tradition while not being bound by it."

Beautiful Fragrance

I will always keep a bottle of Liz Claiborne on my shelf, not only for nostalgic reasons, but also to offer me with something different when all of my current perfumes are boring me. Several of my friends owned this back in the day, so I know it's not a buy-on-the-spot perfume because it smells different on each person as it blends with their individual body chemistry. Fortunately, it's always worked well with mine! A beautiful fragrance from the 1980s, in my opinion.

Signature Formula

Oh, Liz, what an 80's classic! I recall seeing this signature triangular bottle on department store shelves. Their vibrant primary colors radiate happiness and vitality. I must have purchased this in every color available for my high school girlfriend (red, yellow, and blue). On her, it was one of my favorites. It was something I used to ask for all the time. With carnation and oakmoss, this is a one-of-a-kind purple floral. It's lovely! A red bottle with the modified formulation was recently discovered. I also have the reformulated transparent glass bottle version.
